Buenos Aires – I’m Gonna Leave You

Street-Corner-BsAs Winter is coming to the Southern Hemisphere, and that means it’s time for me to hit the international travel trail.

It’s been a wonderful 2.5 years, but it’s time for me to go.

Buenos Aires, it’s not you, it’s me. You see, I thought this was going to be a 3 month fling. We’d have fun, drink wine, eat empanadas, and then I’d go back to my normal life.

Instead, this turned out to be one of my best (and longest) travel adventures ever.

Living in Buenos Aires has been challenging, frustrating, chaotic … and ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I have met interesting people, traveled extensively around Argentina and Uruguay, and drank my weight in yerba maté.

I am sad to leave Buenos Aires, but after several panic attacks and life crisis, I’m ready to go.

Where am I going next?

travel-planning

Ecuador

For the next 3 weeks I will be traveling in Ecuador. Starting in Quito with my Mom, we’ll be checking out the highlands and volcanoes of Ecuador. After that, I’ll be on my own for 10 days, most likely traveling to Baños, or wherever the hell I feel like.

And then…

South East Asia

Two months in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Thailand. It will be extremely hot but these countries have been on my life to-do list for a quite some time (they’re right above “Apply to grad school”).

I am obviously nervous about this big change but at the same time, incredibly excited for the opportunity to travel to new and exotic countries.

And maybe I’ll even have some stories to blog about.

Yes! I will make a brief stop over in Seattle in early June before I fly to Asia. And after that I should be back in August. Miss you too!
